After the breakup of Rocky DeValera & The Gravediggers, Pat Rooney & Richie Taylor formed their own band “The Twist”. Ritchie Taylor would later be in the Rhythm Kings with Rocky DeValera. Their set was made up of mainly original material written by Taylor & Clinton. The Twist had a Monday night residency at the Baggot with The Tabs from February to April 1980, they also had a residency at Toners from March to April 1980.

Demo tape

Within 5 weeks of forming The Twist had recorded a demo tape with two original tracks. “No Way Out” & “Facts Of Life”. Their set would include Rock ‘n’ Roll standards like “Mean Woman Blues”, “Honey Don’t” & “Blue Monday”.
