Before April ’79 Power Plant were a Waterford R.T.C. band called Addiction with the addition of Damien Foley on keyboards. Damien quit the band when studding and performing became too much of a struggle for him. As Addiction the band entered a talent competition and the Galway R.T.C. which they went on to win.
80% of their set is covers version by Slade, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, Judas Priest & The Police. The two original songs in their set are said to be very good & the the band say more will follow.
October 1980 both Power Plant and No Entry share top billing at the Showboat in Waterford.
On 21/03/1981 3 local bands No Entry, Power Plant & Airforce played a charity concert in aid of raising funds for a new church hall.
