The competition is held at Sir Henry’s, in Cork over 5 weeks. With the winner each week going on to the final.

Jo-Maxi’s
In February 1990 Angelic Toenails made their first TV appearance on Network 2’s Jo-Maxi (Jo Maxi is Irish slang for Taxi) programme. It’s not known at this time what songs they performed. They also supported Ned’s Atomic Dustbin when they played Drogheda and McGonagle’s in 1991.
