Rock Night At The Showboat
In September 1980 No Entry secured and Wednesday night residency at the Showboat as the support band for the weekly “Rock Night” events. During their residency No Entry supported Bogey Boys, Radiators, Tony Konklin Band, The Atrix, Resistors & The Blades from Dublin & Cork band The Banditz. Gaining them much more exposure than if they had played their own shows in smaller venues.
40% of their set is original material, with covers version by The Jam, Joe Jackson, XTC, Cheap Trick & The Pirates.
No Entry At R.T.C.
October 1980 both Power Plant and No Entry share top billing at the Showboat in Waterford.
David studied Accountancy, Paul Butler studied music and play with the De La Salle Pipe Band & Kieran, studied Art, all attended the Waterford R.T.C.
Paul Moyser is only 13 when the band is formed. He comes from a musical family with both his brother Ray & his father Ernie playing drums.
Demo Recording
In December 1980 No Entry recorded a 4 track demo tape at Carrick On Suir. Three of the tracks are Changing Times, Misfit Boy & Beneath The Sky. In 1981 the represent Waterford R.T.C. in the National R.T.C. musical competition.
On 21/03/1981 3 local bands No Entry, Power Plant & Airforce played a charity concert in aid of raising funds for a new church hall.
By August of ’81, Paul Butler & Kieran Barry left the band to join Neuro. I don’t know if No Entry carried on after this. There were reports in the local press of a possible E.P. produced by Barry Devlin ex of Horslips and a 6 date Irish tour.
