In June & July of ’83 Side One were part of the Hotwire Review which toured Ireland. During the tour, (15/06) The Zen Alligators recorded their show at Bubbles in Dublin. The recordings from the show were issued as a sinlge with bonus track on the “B” side “Dairy Of A Forgotten War” by Side One.
Side One played regularly at the Mood Club in Tommy Gunne’s Tavern during 1984 & 1985, often as the support to The Commotion, but they did headline as well.
They had two tracks on a Hotwire Records compilation ablum Hip City Boogaloo in 1984 An outcry of Passion, Reasons.
Joseph Ambrose review Some of the bands on Hip City Boogaloo are distined for great things. Side One are the most exciting live band I’ve seen in Ireland in the last few years. Combining songs and musicainship which puts bands like the Blades to shame, they are one of the remarkable highlights of the record. They have recently played Waterford, and people should make it their business to catch them at the first opportunity.
