The Walk were involved in the first concert put on at the Bridge Hotel by Music Moves. This was a local Arts charity set up to promote local bands at local venues. Any money made from the concert was used to bring in Toy With Rhythm (Dublin) to play the next concert. Local band The Village were the support act. Further concerts followed including The Blades (Dublin) again supported by another local band Time In The Shade.
Other local bands playing the first concert at the Bridge Hotel were, Infant Souls, Passive Factor, Tony Hennessy & The Pool.
Christmas 1984 the Norris Minor venue in Waterford hold a charity concert for the South Wales minors. Headliners are Rockabilly band The Flat Tops, The Walk, Damn Strange, The Free Thinking Fireplace.
