Porcelyn Tears got their big break when they supported The Blade’s at the TV Club in Dublin. In the crowd were members of U2, B.P. Fallon & Dave Heffernan. Paul Thomas & Joe Herlihy offered their help with sound & Lighting for their next concert in Cork. At this time the girls still had their “Day Jobs”, two of them were doing well as fashion & photographic models. They made a video appearance on RTE’s “Anything Goes” & “TV Gaga”. The first demo tape they recorded was described in the press as “impressive”. The song were produced under the guidance of Driveshift‘s Gerry Lane. 1985 was their most successful year with support slots with U2 & New Order on their Irish tour.
