The original line up of the the band was a trio, see above. They played many of the Dublin venues and had a 3 month residency at the Ivy Rooms & a 2 month residency at Tommy Dunne Tavern.
In December 1984 Witches Brew released their only single. Angeline/Reach For The Night. Pussy Records PU016, it was produced & engineered by the Mama’s Boys. Ron Gobl wrote the song. By all account he came from a musical family. His father, mother & sister all being involved in the music industry.
By 1985, drummer Sean Maguire had left the band. He was replaced by John Humphries. Stuart Crampton also joined as a second guitarist. Boxing Club Drogheda August ’85 “White Hot Metal will be the order of the night, and the group are, without doubt, the most expert purveyors of this particular art form currently gigging in Ireland”.
Recorded a single called Angeline/Reach For The Night, in Lombard Studio November 1983.
They known to have played a residency at the Ivy Rooms in Dublin. They also had a residency at the Baggot Inn with the Mama’s Boys & Sweet Revenge, they also supported them on their tour of Ireland and the gigs at the S.F.X. Ron writes most of the original song with Barry chipping in a few numbers. They live set includes covers by ZZ Top, Johnny Winters & the Rolling Stones.
