Like 95% of all local bands in Ireland Bondi Breeze struggled to find venues that would let them play their music live. In their home town of Monaghan the only venue that would let them play was McKenna’s pub in Dublin Street. Bondi Breeze regularly sold out the venue building up a sizeable local following.

Watch The Watch was recorded at the Atic studio in July 1989, the tracks were “Self Preservation”, Crazy Lazy”, Highway Man”. According to reports in the local press, it was a very good tape of superior quality. Bondi Breeze took their style of music from traditional metal bands like Ozzy, WASP & Black Sabbath, regarding the likes of Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi & Europe as “Glam Rock”.

All three songs on the demo tape were band originals, all written by the bands main song writer Paul Gilliland.
