This band has nothing to do with the later 5 piece band that released the album Go God Go.

Fred played mainly local Cork venues for the first 18 months as a band. They built up a reputation for their live gigs which were described as very energetic. At one such gig in Sir Henry’s in Cork vocalist Pat split his head open.

In 1991 Fred had all of their equipment stolen. A benefit gig was organised by fellow Cork bands to raise money for them to buy new equipment, the gig was called “Fred’s Revenge”. The concert closed with Fred covering the Sultans Of Pings “Where’s Me Jumper” but changing the lyric too “Where’s Me Drum Kit”.

In 1992 Fred supported fellow Cork band Sultans Of Ping on their UK tour, Fred would often play “Where’s Me Jumper” in their set, this song was a big hit for the Sultans Of Ping.

Fred released at least 3 demo tapes, all of which were played on the Dave Fanning Rock Show.

By 1993 the band had changed their name to LMNO Pelican and released their debut EP Boutros Boutros.
