After the break up of Cargo Cult, Mars Ketting would often play with Max Von Rap although he was not a full time member of the band. The band had a Sunday night residency at the Hamlet Inn from November ’83 til June ’84. They also played dates at O’Flyn’s, The Country Club & Winsor House.
Simon Community Concert
The band are asked to play the Simon Community Charity concert at Sir Henry’s in Cork. All the bands taking part don’t charge a fee & gig raised over £1,500. The other bands taking part are Alice In Wonderland, Jimmy McCathy, Philip King
Five Live Kicks
In July ’84 the band take part in the Five Live Kicks concert at Sir Henry’s in Cork. The idea is to show case the local talent in the Cork area. Taking part are Cargo Cult, Max Von Rap, Belson, Touch Response and Common Market.
CND Peace Concert
They also take part in the Harp Lager Cork Folk Festival playing the opening night at Sir Henry’s.
A free CND concert was held at Fitzgerald Park with Max Von Rap, Jimmy McCathy, Philip King, Ground Zero, Cold Sweat, Soul Makers, Belson & The Snide Slippers. This concert is still held today in Fitzgerald Park.
