Scale The Heights won the Carling/Hot Press best unsigned band competition (1988), at Sir Henry’s in Cork. The other bands making it through to the final were The Boy The Boy from Silgo were second, 3rd were Dublin’s The Candyshop. The pre final favorites, 4th were Brat and 5th were The Harvest Ministers.

The band released a 3 track demo tape in 1988, Where Will We Be, Goodbye To All That, later to be the “A” side of their WEA single & Two Wives.
