The Japps

The Japs

Dublin 1981 – 198?

Line up;

Iggy Guitar & Vocals

Fitzy Keyboards

Joe O’Connor Bass

Stewart McMillan Drums

The Japs rose from the ashes of two of Ireland’s finest rock bands of 1980 – 81; Fizzy and Iggy, late of Katmadu, and Doish from the Bogey Boys, make up the core of the band. And such is the level of talent in the band that after only being together for four weeks they secured a prestige position on tour with superstar Hazel O’Connor. Having already attracted the interest of several major British record companies, the bands long term aim is the American record market. But they intend to be based in Ireland for the next six months. During that time they will be playing and building their following here. Catch them at The Showboat in Waterford on Wednesday, 13th January.
