Petrol Strike blues and scoff majordomo Johnny Lappin advises me that the attendance has dropped far below the previous week’s. Certainly the low turn out doesn’t help a fair assessment of either the Male Caucasians or The Posers. A third full Sportsman’s is no paradise to play. Bright and willing students from the Northside, The Posers have abundant time before they sit their finals. Currently they could be placed in a traditional pop rock mould alongside such as the Resistors and The Roach Band, and The Posers have the assets of useful guitar by play and songs that will stretch beyond the statutory single.

If their playing lacks the required fire and polish, hard work and experience could vanquish those defects but they’ve one tough decision to make instant-est – their name which is outstandingly and dangerously naff for a band with their image or more precisely lack of same. Name and/or image will have to be reconsidered fast, still static on stage, Posers are what these guy’s aren’t.
