The Vibes were formed when Mick Kinsella & Eddie McKenna were on a break from their band Screamin Demon. Screamin Demon split up from April to December 1982.
Eddie and Mick were two of the mainstays on the Drogheda rock scene. Eddie had formerly been in Prophecy, Screamin Demon & Tyrant. While Mick had been in Tyrant, Satanic Nightmare & Screamin Demon. Both of them would later be in XS-NRG.
Ann Marie & Benny both left the band in June 1982 to play gigs as a duo. In August Mick & Eddie also reformed a band of they played in back in 1979 called Tyrant. All of this was very short lived as Screamin’ Demon reformed in August 1982.
The Vibes had a set of 30 original songs, but as they only ever played a couple of gigs most of them were not herd by the general public.
