Tower of Babel were a Dublin goth band active from 1986–1989, part of the city’s first wave of post‑punk/goth acts influenced by Sisters of Mercy and The Mission. They were short‑lived but left a surprisingly well‑documented footprint thanks to demos, a Dave Fanning Session, and two strong singles. They formed in late 1986 / early 1987 and quickly became part of Dublin’s emerging goth/post‑punk underground. Their sound leaned heavily into dark, melodic guitar, deep vocals, and atmospheric production, aligning them with bands like The Mission and Fields of the Nephilim.
Recordings
Tower Of Babel released two singles, both in 1988 on the Red Dawn label. Both singles were self funded and now collectors items.
