Airforce formed 6 months before playing their first live gig, they spent this time rehearsing and writing material. Their set was 100% original material.
Sometime in January 1982 Mick Sinnott & Kevin Lonergan joined the band. Mick had formerly been in Showbands Waves, Five O & Simon. Terry Barry & Kevin Lonergan had previous played together in 1979 in a band called Red Lead.
With Paul Condon & Terry Barry leaving. Paul Condon & Terry Barry form a new band Sahaira Vis.
A residency at Katie’s Reillys Kitchen. They also headlined the Showboat on more than one occasion.
On 21/03/1981 3 local bands No Entry, Power Plant & Airforce played a charity concert in aid of raising funds for a new church hall.
Keyboard player Ger Halloran took part in the Tramore annual dip in the sea.
Airforce Split
After Airforce split in 1983 Ger Halloran, Kevin Lonergan & Mick Sinnott did a brief tour of Italy, Greece & Turkey. Playing U.S. Airforce bases in Europe. While on tour in Athens Ger and Paul meet up with members of an American band called Childsplay. The are asked to join the band on their upcoming American tour as support English band A Flock Of Seagulls.
Gerald & Kevin
Gerald & Kevin seem to have struck up a working relationship. They played together in Airforce, 4 In The World, Sahaira Vis, The Pool. & Childsplay.
