The Drowning Fish
This band were formerly known as The Drowning Fish, but changed their name to Mere Mortals with the rise of An Emotional Fish & Little Fish too stop any confusion.
Drummer Dick Duff was formerly in another Portlaoise band Lunatic Antics.
1990 A Big Year
1990 was a big year for Mere Mortals, they played a month long residency at Dublin’s Baggot Inn to full houses. The also played Feile 90 in on the Saturday, opening the festival that day to rave reviews.
