Just A Philistine released a two track demo tape in 1988, the tracks were No Summertime and The Philistines.
In 1989 Just A Philistine entered the Carling/Hot Press Best unsigned act competition and won. Beating off stiff competition in the final from (2nd) Drogheda band Trenchtown and (3rd) Dublin’s The Outpatients.
