The band spilt up in early 1978, only to reform later that year for a charity gig. However the line up had changed, they were now a 6 piece band with only Eric & Des remaining from the original line. The new line up was, Des McQuillan vocals, Eric Sharpe Guitar, Aidan McDonald Keyboards, Brendan Brady bass, Greg Cunningham drums, Michael Rumnig drums. They originally played cover version of Thin Lizzy, Horslips, Hendrix etc. But towards the end of 1978 their set had changed to 90% original material.

Denmark

There are reports in the local press, that Lynx did a very successful 20 date tour of Denmark and Sweden. Unfortunately I have no other details of this tour.

The Split

At Christmas ’78 Pat Coldrick joined them on second guitar and they increased to a 7 piece band. However this line up quickly changed in January 1979 with Eric & Pat leaving to form Daylight Robbery, and they soon became a 5 piece band again. By the end of February, early march the band split completely.
