The Facets wrote their own material, their set included over 20 original Facet songs. During January 1981 The Facets had a Saturday night residency at the Parliament Inn with Lyndon Shunt & a Thursday night residency at the Magnet Bar.
During November & December 1981, The Facets had a Thursday night residency at the Magnet Bar.

Recordings

he Facets’ recorded output is limited, but they did release a few tracks that became cult favorites in Dublin and the surrounding area. Some of their known recordings include:

  • “Only for the Boys” (single, 1983): This track was one of their most well-known songs and received airplay on Irish radio. The song blends upbeat rock with a post-punk edge and was reflective of the social scene in Dublin at the time.
  • “The Facets” (EP) (1985): A self-titled EP released in the mid-‘80s. It has become somewhat of a collector’s item among fans of Irish post-punk bands from the era.
