C’est Clave were a highly acclaimed band in Ireland that toured with Imagination, Phil Lynott & Johnny Logan. They also released two single too good reviews and critical acclaim.
Mental Health
7″ You Hold The key/Programmed Romance Tara Records TS 015 March 1983. All royalties from this record go to the Mental Health Association of Ireland, the song was written by Mike Mesbur. Who had his own issues after the breakup of the Lookalikes.
A New Sound
Mike Mesbur would later be replaced by Niall Power on drums. This lead to the band having a more commerical sound & Eamonn taking over on vocals & song writing duties. Songs like “The Soldier’s Song” about the Falklands war is miles away from their earlier material.

During 1983 the band had a residency at Dublin’s Sportsman’s Inn from April to June. C’est Clave also had residency at the Baggot Inn.
Irish Karate Team
In May 1984 they took part in a charity gig to raise funds for the Irish Karate to go to the World Championships in Japan. Other bands on the bill Montage, Toy With Rhythm, Les Enfants, Aslan, Pulling Faces Tu Khen Chu
