Shay Hiney…Bernie Creegan’s house / rehearsal room….some good memories of your/Fabrics rehearsals there
Paul Rooney DM Dunne was also involved
Colm Carty Ha Ha The Jags that was John Byrne DM Dunne Martin Moore and me. We rehearsed in DMs garage in Rathmines, recorded a 30 song demo (all originals!) onto a cassette tape, sent it to Stiff Records. Kosmo Vinyl replied saying it was different go record 3 songs in a proper studio. We did, sent it and never heard from him again, then we broke up. How Punk is that! John Byrne went on to be guitarist with Pop Soul combo the Commotion who did a storming set of gigs 84/85 era.
Colm Carty Shay Hiney I think Martin Moore kept a copy. From what I remember it made the Mekons sound like Steely Dan.
Shay Hiney Tks Colm Carty and Martin, if you have a copy……
DM Dunne Shay Hiney the only one likely to have a copy is Martin Moore but I wouldn’t count on it. Some of the material had promise but it was rough and soul tinged.
Colm Carty DM Dunne Paul Woodfull said we sounded like Josef K which dismayed us. In hindsight that is pretty cool.
DM Dunne Colm the one small thing is that Josef K meant to sound like that, we didnt !
