The Wand Peace Band played in various venues around Ireland during the 1970s.
Fran Kenny We stole the show at their 1st Gig in St Lawrence’s College & received 3 encores
Supported Ronny Medford & the Nevada show band in Dublin in a marque gig known as Fingallian’s club in Dublin ~ receiving 3 standing ovations from the thousands of people attending that evening.
They played with the Eric Bell Band (former member of Thin Lizzy) St Killian’s Hall in Greystones Wicklow  and received a standing ovation & 2 encores that evening.
Played the Subway Bar in Cork & brought the house down.
Had a residency for about a year in the Pembrook inn in Dublin, & become very well known.
They always went down very well at open air concerts like Blackrock Park & Phoenix Park.
After the WPB disbanded Freebird was formed. In the Pic WPB Phoenix Park 4 ~ the line up is as follows Back Left ~ Paul Kenny, Back Centre ~ Dave Mc Clelland, Back Right ~ Terry Mc Manus, Front Left ~ Fran Kenny, Front Left ~ Bert Versey.
