07/09/1980 Lyceum Ballroom, London, UK. Boy Tour Leg 1 September – December

The U2 “Boy” Tour was the band’s first big concert tour, launched to promote their debut album *Boy*, released in October 1980 in the UK and Ireland. It marked their first move onto the international stage and helped them start building a fanbase that would grow rapidly in the years ahead. Many of the venues U2 played were small club/pubs with a capacity of 200/300. This was ideal for them too show their raw power in an intermate setting and make a real connection with their fans. This leg of the tour included their first European shows, although they still hadn’t performed in Scotland or Wales.
