23/06/1979 RDS Dublin Commercial Music Festival. First prise was a £2,000 recording contract, bands that took part included Freebird, The Fast, Alcove, Stryder, Noel Brazil, Terra Nova. The competion was won by Heavy Metal band Stryder.

Barry Reid When we played the Dublin Music festival in 1979 there were in the region of 300 entries to it.
A band called Stryder won it, then broke up before using the prize of recording time. Fools !!

We came 2nd, and heard nothing more from anyone following some interesting promises.
I won best original song for “Lovesick”, which we never recorded.
Our demo was recorded in Setanta Studios in Dundalk.
We played extensively around Ireland, regularly in Abbey Inn, Tralee, and Sir Henrys, Cork. Gigs in Dublin were very hard to come by then. Through April and May 1979 the band had a residency at Walsh & Ryan’s, Townsend Street, they also had a residency from April to May ’79 at the Mississippi Rooms Bray.

High N Dry would later become Da Dudes.
