O’Brien, Lyons & O’Mahony were all in Cork’s first “Punk” band “Berserk“. Vincent Lyons was also in a band called Orpheus along with Ger Hennessy. The band did a session for Dave Fanning’s radio show and also released a 7 track E.P. in 1982. See the “Demo’s & Recordings” page for more information on this. If you have a copy of this record please get in touch. Mike O’Brien left the band sometime in 1983 and Factor Fiction split up sometime after this.

In 1982 Factor Fiction recorded a 7 track E.P. at Salonika Studio in Ballyvourney Co. Cork, it wsa released on the TKS label. All tracks were engineered by Tadgh Kelliher

Mike O’Brien, Vincent Lyons Paul O’Mahony would all later be in the studio band Totally Unpredictable, releasing two demo tapes, in the style of Jilted John. The demo’s were only given to Dave Fanning. The first tape got a good review in the Evening Echo.
