Damien quit the band when studding and performing became too much of a struggle for him. As Addiction the band entered a talent competition and the Galway R.T.C. which they went on to win.<br>80% of their set is covers version by Slade, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, Judas Priest &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Police\">The Police<\/a>. The two original songs in their set are said to be very good &amp; the the band say more will follow.<br>October 1980 both Power Plant and <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artists-a-z\/no-entry\/\">No Entry<\/a> share top billing at the Showboat in Waterford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-6a523c195cff716fa5b27264b45039f6 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.2\">On 21\/03\/1981 3 local bands No Entry, Power Plant &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artists-a-z\/airforce\/\">Airforce<\/a> played a charity concert in aid of raising funds for a new church hall.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Power Plant From; Waterford Active; April 1979 &#8211; 198Style; New WaveVocals; Ken KervickGuitar &amp; Vocals; Harry CondonBass &amp; Vocals; Martin RussellDrums; Tom Cooney Before April &#8217;79 Power Plant were a Waterford R.T.C. band called Addiction with the addition of Damien Foley on keyboards.
