1n 1989, Lipstick Vogue were involved in the Carling\/Hot Press<\/a> search for the best young Irish band. They were in heat 3 with Thrupenny Opera (Wexford), Jerusalem (Derry), Andrew Bass & the Innocent Ones (Dublin), Thrupenny Opera won this heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition is held at Sir Henry’s<\/a>, in Cork over 5 weeks. With the winner each week going on to the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
