Their first major break came when they got the support slot with the Boomtown Rats. Playing to a crowd of 14,00 at Leixlip Castle. Their song “Prisoner” was often played on Dave Fannings nightly rock show. This song would become their debut single on Scoff Records. As far as I can make out the band split up in Jan ’81 after drummer Eamon Doyle left the band.

Scoff Singles

During their time together the band recorded two singles for Scoff Records. The first “For The Night”/ “Prisoner” DT4. The second was a live recording with Stepaside at Dublin’s Sportsmans Inn. They also recorded a 6 track demo tape, which was later remixed in London by Deke O’Brien but no further singles were released.

Live Reputation

The Male Caucasians gained a reputation for being an excellent live band. They played the Dandelion Market with The Outcasts. Also the Glenrock Festival with Rudi, Bankrobbers, X-Dreamysts, Big Self and others. They also made at least one appearance on RTE’s TX programme performing their single “Prisoner”. The bands second Scoff single was recorded live at the Sportsmans Inn. Other venues they are known to have played are Summit Inn, Howth, Blue Lagoon Sligo (at the time the top Rock venue) in the country. The Crofton Airport Hotel.

Male Caucasians from; Belfast Active; 1979 – 1981Style; RockLine up;Guitar & Vocals; Aiden McCroaryGuitar & Vocals; Pat CunninghamBass & Vocals; Davy WatsonDrums; Eamonn Doyle Male Caucasians were a Belfast band that move south to break into the larger gig circuit in the South of Ireland.
