They were joined by Derek Herbert who had formerly been in Luminants and <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-s\/shattered-light\/\">Shattered Light<\/a>. He also sang on the 1982 Paul Angle&#8217;s single. The band built up a good reputation playing the Dublin club circuit. By December 1983 the band had brought in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/entertainment\/music-reviews\/2019\/0307\/1034869-flo-mcsweeney-picture-in-a-frame\/\">Flo McSweeney<\/a> on vocals from <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-t\/toy-with-rhythm\/\">Toy With Rhythm<\/a>. This improved their live performance.<br>Flo turned down the opportunity to join the band full time, when the band signed a six album deal with Chrysalis Records. Flo would be replaced by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.suzannerhatigan.com\/\">Suzanne Rhatigan<\/a>, just like Flo, Suzanne had been with Toy With Rhythm &amp; also 5th Avenue.. Flo would go on to join <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moving_Hearts\">Moving Hearts<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#1ea300;color:#fffb15\">Debut Irish Single<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band released a debut single &#8216;Take The Girl&#8217; in1984. Shortly after this, the band relocated to London. By this time former front man of<a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-r\/revolver\/\"> Revolver<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-t\/teen-commandments\/\">Teen Commandments<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-r\/the-reasons\/\"> Reasons<\/a> &amp;<a href=\"http:\/\/ghostown1976.local\/artist-a-z\/bands-f\/flash-harrys\/\"> Flash Harrys<\/a>, Phil Byrne becomes the bands manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#1ea300;color:#fffb15\">December 1984 Niall Power joins on drums<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arrived in London September 84. Was only there a couple of weeks when Phil Byrne got in touch to ask if I\u2019d be interested in drumming for Les Enfants. I\u2019d heard them rehearsing in Litton Lane and my girlfriend Michelle also did B\/V on an Irish tour with them. <br>I rehearsed with them in late September at Clink studios near London Bridge for a week and did some live gigs during October and an In Concert radio one session at the Paris theatre for BBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#1ea300;color:#fffb15\">Touring With Paul Young<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In November we went to Rockfield in Wales to record the single Slipaway and did Saturday Starship tv show in Birmingham. We supported REM in Brum University the same weekend before joining the Paul Young British tour on 29\/11\/84 at the Glasgow Apollo.<br>Recorded Razamatazz tv show in Newcastle on 17\/11\/84.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#1ea300;color:#fffb15\">1985 A Busy Year Recording<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We started the album Touch\u00e9 in January at Rockfield.<br>Video for Slipaway was recorded 21\/1\/85 London Docklands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#1ea300;color:#fffb15\">Returning to Ireland<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1986, Les Enfants returned to Ireland to perform at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Self_Aid#:~:text=Self%20Aid%20was%20an%20unemployment%20benefit%20concert%20held,day%3B%20the%20event%20was%20promoted%20by%20Jim%20Aiken.\">Self Aid<\/a> concert. The band contributed the track &#8216;A Sense Of Freedom&#8217; from their set to the &#8216;Live For Ireland&#8217; compilation which released in 1987.
