Unlike most Dublin bands, The Muff Divers started life playing gigs outside the capital. A star is born. The Muff Divers ace vocalist and frontman Tyke. He cuts a ridiculous figure in tights and dressing gown, parading the stage, an intimate clown playing audience dynamics. He is a welcome addition to the Irish scene, carrying attention and interest, whether playing the part of a pusher in the insidious \u201cDrop Another\u201d (\u201cHey Kid! Ya wanna score?\u201d he whispers, handing out Smarties) or deflating the other members poses (\u201cLadeez n\u2019 Gentlemen, Al Richardson, guitar hero, Al Richardson, Ladeez n\u2019 Gentlemen, AL RICHARDSON!\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Muff Divers major drawback is their inane and schoolboyish sexist posturing, designed to cause outrage but succeeding only in casting them as fools; it does not feature in the songs, so why the emphasis on the dirty mac brigade? Is there life beyond adolescence?
